Naughty or Nice?

It is that time of year when Christmas Music is being played, Eggnog is being drank, Stockings are hung and children get a chance to sit on Santa's knee to tell them what they want for Christmas. This was Davis' first time meeting Santa and as you can tell from the picture he didn't like it! Usually Santa is the one that knows if boys and girls have been naughty or nice, but I think Davis is the one keeping track for Santa this year! And from the expression on his face you can tell that Davis thinks Santa has been NAUGHTY this year!!!

The Lights at Temple Square!

We didn't get a chance to see the Ayala family on Thanksgiving so today we all met for dinner and then went to see the lights at Temple Square! We got there a little early. Here are Warren, Jenny, Lexi, Mason and Tyson waiting for the lights to turn on!

We don't get a chance to see the Ayala family very often so we were so excited to spend time with Jamie & Joel! And we got to see Jamie's little pregnancy bump!!! We can't wait to meet our little cousin in February!!!

Davis couldn't get enough of his cousins. He loves playing with his 3 Ayala cousins because they all follow him wherever he goes and they give him whatever he wants!!! Needless to say Davis definitely ran the show tonight! When he stopped to sit down all of his cousins followed!!!

There are tons of Christmas lights all over Temple Square, the Main Street Plaza and the Conference Center, but I think the lights on the temple are my favorite. The temple is such a beautiful building on the outside and on the inside. I am so grateful for the blessings in our family and am glad to know that Dean, Davis & I are sealed together forever!

Davis was being very independent tonight! He wanted to walk and he didn't want anyone to carry him, especially his parents. However, he didn't mind when his Uncle Warren picked him up and carried him so we could all move a little faster! We had a great time looking at all the lights and I don't ever think it has taken us that long to walk around to see the lights.

The Christmas season is one of my favorite times of the year! I am so glad that we have a season where we can celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas season and enjoys the time they get to spend with others!!! We are sure glad that we got to be with the Ayala family tonight!!! Happy Holidays!!!

Oh Christmas Tree. . .

Today is the day after Thanksgiving so you know what that means??? It is time to DECORATE for Christmas!!! I got up at 3:23 a.m. went shopping with Jessie and then came home to make breakfast and then do our traditional decorating!

Davis was all smiles while we were decorating today! He loved pulling the decorations out of the boxes!

He especially loved playing with the Christmas tree ornaments that were breakable!

We decided to put the breakable ornaments out of Davis' reach, but we didn't realize how high he could reach!

He loved the shiny ornaments and did everything he could to pull them off the tree!

After Davis showed us how much he wanted the ornament to be off the tree we decided to put the breakable ornaments a lot higher on the tree! So now when you look at our tree you see the nice ornaments on the top and then all of the old ornaments that are not breakable on the bottom. The problem with the nonbreakable ornaments is that Davis broke one of them minutes after I put it on the tree!!! It looks like our tree is going to have quite an adventure this Christmas season!!! I hope it is still standing when Santa arrives!!!

Turkey Day 2009

Happy Thanksgiving!!! Davis was so excited to celebrate with us today by watching football, playing with cousins, and of course. . .

Eating lots of Turkey!!! My Mom is an amazing cook and always makes the best Turkey dinner!

While we were finishing the final touches for dinner I noticed that I hadn't heard Davis in a little while. I looked around for him and found him snuggling with his Uncle Spencer! And he kept snuggling until Spencer finally got up to eat dinner!

This year Davis was actually able to eat the real Turkey dinner instead of just getting it through nursing!!! He had quite the meal in front of him and he didn't touch any of it except the jello. The rest of the plate went right in the garbage! Dean & I ate enough to keep us full the rest of the day so when we got home tonight and Davis was throwing the biggest tantrum ever we didn't think that he could possibly be starving! After trying a lot of other things to calm him down I gave Davis a cheese quesadilla to see if he would eat it. He gobbled the entire thing down in minutes and then wanted more. So I gave him another quesadilla and he gobbled that down as well. I am so glad that we gave Davis a snack so he didn't starve on Thanksgiving!

Then after lots of food, talking and playing it was time for my Dad to take his traditional after Thanksgiving dinner nap!!! Doesn't that look comfortable??? After lots of fun family time we headed home to try to go to bed early so I would be well rested when my alarm went off at 3:23 a.m.

Training!!!

6 weeks ago Dean & I started training for the St. George 1/2 Marathon! We have been training for 5 weeks and it has been going great!!! Most days I bundle Davis in the jogger and then we are off. However, today Dean was able to come with us on our 6 mile run!!! It was so wonderful to have someone to talk to and to help me when my blood sugar got low!!! I am so excited that Dean is running the 1/2 marathon with me because if any of you know Dean you know that he HATES anything to do with running!!! This has been a great motivator for both of us to get in shape!!! After a couple more months of training we will see you all at the finish line on January 23rd 2010!!!

Worlds Most Dangerous Creatures. . .

Dean, Davis & I had the opportunity to spend the week with Henry & James. Preston & Jessie headed out of town so Davis had the chance to have brothers/cousins around 24/7 for a few days. At times they all played spectacular together, but then in a blink of an eye these 3 boys sure could be the Worlds Most Dangerous Creatures. Davis & James were the most dangerous this week!!! Those two could not get along. As Dean put it, "they are like oil and water." They are both learning how to share etc. so they were pretty competitive all week. Boys are lots of fun, but they sure do keep you on your toes!!!

On Tuesday I loaded up Jessie's Minivan, bundled up the boys and went to the Dinosaur Park!!! We all loved being outside with the scary dinosaurs!!! The week was wonderful!!! We had so much fun filling our days playing trains, making forts out of blankets, doing art projects, running around like crazy and don't forget making a dark bat cave to use flashlights in. We had a great time and Davis loved being around his cousins!!!

Let it Snow. . .

Last night we went to Preston & Jessie's to cheer on RSL in their Eastern Conference Champion game (which they won in a shoot out)! Earlier in the day it snowed, but we didn't get a chance to play in it because Dean & I were busy working in the basement. Well as soon as Davis got out of the car at the Pond's he was off to play in the fun white stuff.

He was definitely not afraid of the cold. He kept running after Henry but as he was chasing him he would fall into the snow! He just got right back up and kept on playing! He loved it!!!

Davis just kept grabbing handfuls of snow and shoving them into his mouth!!! Yum!!! He couldn't get enough of it!!! I guess after eating all of the snow he needed to warm his mouth up by biting his coat??? I haven't been looking forward to this cold season, but after seeing Davis play in the snow I think this winter is going to be a lot more fun than I expected. So I say. . . Let it Snow!
